Weaker demand lowers operating rates across zinc oxide producers in May

Rates are expected to fall further to 54.26% in Jun as the seasonal lull continues

SHANGHAI, Jun 10 (SMM) – Operating rates across Chinese zinc oxide producers unexpectedly lost 0.54 percentage point from April, to 54.91% in May, as the low season set in and dragged on downstream consumption, SMM data showed on Monday June 10.

SMM expects rates to fall further by 0.65 percentage point on the month, and by 0.4 percentage point on the year, to 54.26% in June as the seasonal lull continues.
